Could'nt face another day of being battered at Felixstowe and thinking the forecast was not good enough for Southend and I had to be back home for a family due at 4,I decided to give Point Clear ago as I have never sailed there before and there is a flat water lagoon at high water :) We arrived at 10 and parked up at the end through the caravan park overlooking Brightlingsea where we had breakfast and a walk along the beach-a nice spot.As the tide was still low I decided to rig from here and not the normal area just around the corner !!! With wind gusting to 20 kts I went with the 7m and walked the couple of hundred metres to the sea and had the whole area to myself :) I had some mega 3 mile reaches running parallel to the beach so you were never far from safety :) I searched the whole estuary and seafront for some flat water but sadly never from any :( By the time the lagoon had water and other kiters/windsurfers were out the wind had dropped !!! by which time I was abit late and could'nt get back to the van so I had to derig on the green and walk back and we were only 15 mins late for tea !!! So a great spot and I will be back to give the lagoon ago !!!
